Google bought Blogger ages ago. It seems like I was seeing Blogger indexing already, but maybe just through other site links?
So Google launched their blog search.
Anyway, this day was coming. Jason Calacanis has been bitching about this for a while, and with good reason. I particularly like how he's putting the MSM on notice today with his blog entry.
Viva la revolution! Or something like that.
I don't know that blog search will get on the primary Google homepage too soon though. Wouldn't ad rates skyrocket to the point where they might become problematic for smaller businesses. Or would they? Either way, things are going to get really interesting as Yahoo, Google, MS ramp up these search tools. Keep in mind it was a form of search behind many of the great epochs in history.

I [heart] robots
Wish I had the time to build them. But I can see, within my kids' lifetime if not mine, a day when robots will coexist with humans. Servants? Perhaps. Phillip Torrone seems to elevate them beyond that, but he's a kook (in the good sense PT).
And there seems to be a robot renaissance, if you will. Maybe it's just because I dropped off the tech scene for a while, but it appears the robot world is really hopping these days. You have more choices now than ever to build your own robots. From battle bots to simple toys (LEGO Mindstorms come to mind), the world is your R2 it seems. The 2nd issue of MAKE mag was dedicated to bots...
Anyhoo, Hackaday has a great post on Dorkbots and Artbots. Good stuff. Someday in the future I will get back into robotics. It combines all the senses.
There's also my crappy little post on the subject over on Download Squad: How to Build Your Own Robot Army. Yipee!

Last geek standing
Wow. My wife sent me this:
http://www.livejournal.com/users/interdictor/
For real? Sounds like the real thing to me. Unbelievable, and a fascinating story of survival... It's also amazing the dedication some techies have. But here is a modern day citizen journalist, telling his story via technology in the worst possible circumstances.
Amazing. If true.
UPDATE: It's true. Congrats to the team, the management, and all the cops and citizens and soldiers who helped them out. I love when Interdictor says he loves his boss for being a packrat.
