The Times has a riff on bloggers. Something about keeping it real, I believe. Quite good, really.
I agree with them. Let's keep the hissy fits to a minimum. Hunter Thompson saved his venom for the dirty politicians (or made some weirdos up). Thomas Wolfe saved the barbs for the bar.
Stick to what you do best bloggers: good stories, breaking news, and staying grounded in reality. Somebody has to.

Goodbye freedom
So the NSA wants a database of every call ever made huh? Well I'm sure they have probable cause... After all, haven't we all thought, at one point or another, of overthrowing the government?
Not Thomas Jefferson. He said it's your civic duty to do so.
Oops, here come the thought police... While we're at it, everyone be sure to hop on that Jeb Bush for Prez in '08 bandwagon that's been circulating. Because really, there's no way to dismantle the Constitution AND Bill of Rights in a mere 8 years...
“The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is its natural manure.”

Cold days in hell
I look forward to them, but they'll never come around. What am I talking about? Microsoft removing DRM from their life. DRM will forever be baked into the DNA of MS. DRM/DNA - rename it Microsoft Windows Direct Media Negotiator, and it sounds like a feature! Built into the OS, saves you time kids!
Yeah, well anyway, this is all despite a truly eloquent plea on behalf of Cory Doctorow, railing against the use of DRM at Microsoft.
I really do love those cold days in hell...
