Goodbye freedom

So the NSA wants a database of every call ever made huh? Well I'm sure they have probable cause... After all, haven't we all thought, at one point or another, of overthrowing the government?

Not Thomas Jefferson. He said it's your civic duty to do so.

Oops, here come the thought police... While we're at it, everyone be sure to hop on that Jeb Bush for Prez in '08 bandwagon that's been circulating. Because really, there's no way to dismantle the Constitution AND Bill of Rights in a mere 8 years...

“The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is its natural manure.”
Thomas Jefferson

Speaking of Thomas Jefferson, was he not for a weak Federal Government and a strong State Government? And, it would appear that we (general public) chose the former. And, as I understand it, our Government began as a Republic, not as a Democracy; so, if we have move away from our origins, what do you suppose caused that migration of thought? Could it be that the "thought police," were alive and well back in 1776?

So, here we are, 2006, and we are now so regulated and paranoid that we are using our "freedoms" to justify the need to keep records on who is calling who... or, is it whom?

Nevertheless, how would our "Founding Fathers" perceive this new threat to our "Life, Liberty, and Pursuit of Happiness?"
